Yes! A cat toy!

I can’t remember where I saw this but how good is this activity for bub? I saw this $10 cat toy from Target and had to buy it for Asher.

A cat toy, yes. A cat toy! I don’t even own a cat.

I put it out for him this morning when he woke up and he loved it straight away. He kept trying to find other objects that he could put in the holes and also took the balls to out in other shape sorters that he has. This is so good for his problem solving to figure out which shapes fit where.

I was looking into Montessori toys and this was a cheaper option for me. In Montessori there is a toy which teaches children about object permanence. It is a simple box with one hole at the top that you can put a ball in and it comes out the side.

Object permanence is the understanding that objects continue to exist even when they cannot be perceived (seen, heard, touched, smelled or sensed in any way).

Separation anxiety is at a peak between the ages of 8-10 months so how good is teaching object permanence at this time? It is so important to teach your child that when Mummy or Daddy goes to work that you will always come back again.
